Prof. Dr. Martin Biel

Martin Biel is Chair of Pharmacology at the Department of Pharmacy of the LMU and has proven expertise in molecular biology and gene therapy. He served as co-coordinator of the first German research consortium (www.RD-CURE.de) dedicated to the translation of retinal gene therapy products for CNGA3-linked achromatopsia and PDE6A-linked retinitis pigmentosa. In addition, he is scientific co-founder of the first German retinal gene therapy-focused start-up, which was founded in 2017 out of LMU Munich.
